Post laser tattoo removal itching stephena; last updated: 3 years ago; i just had my first laser treatment on 2 tattoos 1 week ago today. i started experiencing extreme itching to the sites about 4 days ago and it is not getting better. i wake myself up itching during the night.. Dry skin, all by itself, can cause itchy rashes and it could just be a coincidence if one appears over a healed tattoo. but if the pigment under the skin is exposed to extreme cold, it could react to the temperature change in an adverse way.. Well the itching is intense now and i notice little red bumps above the tattoo. its not the tatt that itches, its the skin above it. the rash is slowly getting bigger. a few minutes ago i put a&d ointment on just the skin, not the tattoo. a rash after laser tattoo removal?.
